My name is Ben Batchelder. I’m a native of Boston, and since time immemorial I have had a passion for art and creation.
In my youth, I spent my days exploring in the assorted forests and derelicts of the Greater Boston Area. Sketching and photographing the scenery, I made my own sense of the world, giving names to any exceptionally odd-looking trees and origin stories to rusted, left-behind relics of the city. This interfacing of man-made and natural, of old and new, is reflected in my illustrated and motion graphic works: They are a masonry of the elegant, naturalistic, and enchanting yesteryear with the bold, jagged, and whimsical contemporary.
