My name is Ben Batchelder, and my head is full of pictures.
Growing up, I would explore the forested parks and forgotten Victorian structures in the Greater Boston Area. But most fascinating to me was how haphazardly the old city met the new. I made my own sense of these landscapes through drawing. This interfacing of man-made and natural, of old and new, is reflected in my visual works: They are a masonry of the elegant, naturalistic, and enchanting yesteryear with the bold, jagged, and whimsical contemporary.
