An experimental venture into background painting. Blender was instrumental to the creation process. I built basic geometry to save time on perspective, lighting, depth.
I then drew and threw color and texture all over them.
Depth was used directly, while lighting passes were used as reference. In general, when drawing on 3D reference, I keep in mind that just because it’s “correct” doesn’t mean it’s “right.”
The role of an artist is to interpret moreso than it is to replicate.
