MetroCommon 2050: Climate Change

This was grant project for the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) of Boston. This series of poster graphics are meant to educate about climate change resilience, and how different population groups will be affected if the various dangers of climate change go unmitigated.

My idea was to represent different groups involved in the three major scenarios as single character designs. They went through many rounds for readability and sensitivity, resulting in three scenes full of complex characters. The true complexity of the web of dangers is still being studied, and much more data exists beyond these three images. While I, as a single artist, can’t come close to expressing the full severity of this global problem, I was at least able to come up with a succinct and appealing way to communicate some key points relevant to Greater Boston.
